A Journey of Creativity, Balance, and Rediscovery

Welcome to 2025! This year marks a new chapter for my blog and my journey as a dance educator, mom, and arts administrator. Over the year, this blog has been a space for me to share dance education ideas, reviews of local dance events, and resources for educators, dancers, and parents. While I cherish its value as a resource, I’m ready to take things in a slightly different direction—one that feels more personal, creative, and reflective of where I am in life.
Why I’m Shifting My Focus
In recent months, I’ve stepped back from social media for personal reasons (a topic I’ll dive into in another post). Outside of LinkedIn, I’ve realized that my creative outlets have become fewer and farther between. Teaching and choreography, which were once my main avenues of expression, have taken a part-time role in my life. With these changes, I’ve come to see this blog not just as a resource but as a much-needed creative space.
2025 is about rediscovering my connection to dance in a deeper, more personal way. Whether through writing, consuming, or contributing to the dance world, this blog will reflect my journey as I balance my roles as a mom, wife, dancer, and administrator.
What’s Next for the Blog in 2025
1. A Personal Lens on Dance
While I will still create resources for dance educators, parents, and students, I also want to document my personal journey. From adjusting to life as a working mom of two to navigating postpartum and rediscovering my identity outside of motherhood, I’ll share stories that resonate with anyone balancing multiple roles in life.
Key Upcoming Topics:
- Navigating postpartum as a dancer and teacher.
- The balancing act: Mom, wife, administrator, and creative artist.
- Why I left the school system as a dance teacher.
2. A Creative Outlet for Dance
With fewer opportunities to teach and choreograph full-time, this blog will serve as my primary creative outlet. I’ll explore dance in new ways—through literature, research, and even my dreams of pursuing a master’s degree in dance.
My Creative Goals for 2025:
- Reading more dance literature, starting with Swans of Harlem.
- Researching and documenting my journey toward pursuing a master’s degree in dance.
- Exploring choreography projects that inspire me, even if they’re just for personal fulfillment.
3. Consuming More Dance
As I transition into my new role as a program coordinator at Ballethnic, I want to immerse myself in the dance world as an observer, supporter, and learner. Attending performances, reading books, and connecting with other dance professionals will fuel my passion and enrich my contributions to this blog.
Balancing the Roles of Mom, Wife, and Dance Professional
Leaving the comfort of the school system as a dance teacher has been a significant change, but it’s opened doors to new opportunities and challenges. Adjusting to life with two kids while stepping into a new role at Ballethnic is no small feat. I plan to use this blog to share my strategies for finding balance, including routines that keep me grounded and focused.

A Commitment to Dance Education and Growth
As I settle into my new roles, I remain deeply committed to dance education and its impact on communities. My work at Ballethnic, coupled with my ongoing exploration of teaching, choreography, and academic aspirations, will shape much of what I share here. Whether you’re a dance educator, student, or parent, I hope my experiences and resources will inspire you to pursue your own creative goals.
Looking Ahead
In 2025, this blog will be more than just a resource for others—it will be a reflection of my personal and professional journey. From navigating the joys and challenges of motherhood to rediscovering my place in the dance world, this space will document it all. I’m excited to invite you along for the ride as I use this platform to create, consume, and contribute to the art form I love.
If you’re on a similar journey or have dreams you’re chasing in the dance world, let’s connect. Here’s to a year of growth, balance, and creativity!
