Today’s post is a little different from the usual! No tips or advice this time—just something that’s been weighing on my heart for a while, and I need to share it. Honestly, it makes me a bit emotional just thinking about it. So, here it goes!
Watching you dance has always been one of my favorite things.
As the year comes to a close, I couldn’t let it end without telling you how incredibly proud I am of you. Whether it’s in the studio, on stage, or in those quiet moments when you’re lost in the music, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing your journey as a dancer and as a person. It’s a gift I cherish deeply.
Watching your dancing mature over the years has been a front-row seat to something extraordinary. The way your movements became more refined, your confidence more radiant, and your artistry more profound—it’s been magical. But even more than that, seeing you grow up, discover yourself, and step into the person you are meant to be has filled me with immeasurable pride.
Watching You Dance Is One of My Favorite Things
When I think back to your first steps into the studio, I see more than just pliés and pirouettes. I see the bravery it took to try something new, the determination to master each skill, and the joy that lit up your face when you succeeded. I see the moments when you fell and got back up again—those are the memories that stand out the most because they remind me of your resilience and strength.
To my present students, every class is a reminder of why I love teaching. Your energy, curiosity, and commitment inspire me daily. The laughter we share during warm-ups, the camaraderie as you support one another, and the focus you bring to each correction—it all makes my heart so full.
To my former students, you are never far from my thoughts. I follow your journeys, both in dance and beyond, with the pride of someone who got to be a small part of your story. Whether you’ve continued to dance professionally, found joy in other passions, or pursued paths I couldn’t have imagined, I am so proud of you.
Thank You for Allowing Me to Be Part of Your Journey
No matter where life takes you, always remember that your time in the studio was about more than just dance steps. It was about building discipline, embracing creativity, and finding a voice that is uniquely yours.
Thank you for trusting me to guide you, for letting me celebrate your victories, and for allowing me to stand beside you through challenges. It has been an honor to play even a small role in shaping the person you are today.
I hope you know how much you mean to me. I hope you know that the lessons you’ve learned here—about perseverance, teamwork, and self-expression—will serve you no matter what you pursue in life.
Watching Your Dancing Mature on the Dance Floor Is Something Special
Each performance, each practice session, and each breakthrough has been a moment I’ve held close to my heart. You’ve taught me as much as I’ve taught you—about patience, joy, and the boundless potential of the human spirit.
As the year ends and you prepare to take on new challenges, carry with you the lessons that dance has taught us: to face challenges with grace, to stand tall with confidence, and to always keep moving forward, even when the music changes.
And know that wherever you go, whatever you do, you’ll always have someone cheering for you in the audience.
With all my love and admiration,
Your Dance Teacher
